Kolkata/Chopra, Apr 30 (UNI) Claiming that the Trinamool Congress will again come to the saddle in 2026 winning 240 seats in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly, its National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday said the party cannot be cowed down “by any rebuke or threat.”
Addressing a meeting in North Bengal, Banerjee, who has embarked upon a two-month-long Jono Sanjog Yatra (mass contact outreach) ahead of the Panchayat polls, said, “The Triinamool Congress cannot be cowed down by any rebuke or threat. “From the 2011 Assembly election onwards, the Trinamool Congress has gone on increasing its number of seats iand in 2026, the party will romp home with 240 seats, he said.
Restating firm resolve to uproot all oppressive forces from thes state and build a glorious future, Banerjee iterated that the campaign Trinamoole Nabo Jowar (New tide in Trinamool) will usher in a fresh era of growth.Taking a potshot at BJP MP from Raigunj Debasree Chaudhuri, Banerjee said, ” People elected Debasree Chaudhuri BJP MP Raiganj but she did nothing for the development of this place in the last four years.”
” Not even a single meeting has been organised to discuss the interests of Uttar Dinajpur, ” he stated. “Within 3 months of Hon’ble CM @MamataOfficial winning the 2021 elections, Lakshmir Bhandar was extended to every female member of the family. We delivered, ” he said.
“We’ll now go the extra mile and implement Duare Ration within 6 months,” Banerjee added.Earlier, Banerjee called for establishing the Panchayat model in Bengal as was envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi.Stating that the three-tier Panchayati Raj system is the backbone of society, Banerjee said, “People must have the right to recommend candidates who’ll serve them without bias.”
Calling for revolutionising the PRI System, Banerjee said, “A revolution that will significantly improve the lives of the masses.””People must identify candidates who’ll work for them regardless of caste, class, religion, or political affiliation,” he said.He also reaffirmed a strong commitment to bring about revolutionary changes in Bengal and uplift the lives of all.
