Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has landed in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku to take part in the COP29 conference, a RIA Novosti correspondent has reported.
Erdogan has landed in Baku late on Monday, the correspondent reported, adding that the Turkish leader was welcomed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Turkish Ambassador to Baku Jahit Bagchi, as well as by other officials.
On Tuesday, the president is expected to hold several bilateral meetings and participate in the leaders’ summit.
The COP29 is being held in Azerbaijan from November 11-22. Around 80 heads of state and government, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, outgoing European Council President Charles Michel, and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, are taking part in the gathering.
