More than 400 people have been evacuated from a six-story residential building that caught fire in Moscow near the Airport metro station, emergency services told Sputnik on Friday.
The roof caught fire in a six-story building in Moscow near the Airport metro station. The area of fire first amounted to two thousand square meters, and the fire spread to four thousand square meters later, the press office of the Russian Emergency Ministry in Moscow said earlier in the day.
“More than 400 people have been evacuated from a six-story building on fire on Chernyakhovsky Street in Moscow,” an official told Sputnik.
The press office of the Russian Emergency Ministry said the fire was already put out, adding that there were no casualties in the incident.
In the meantime, 175 people and over 50 units of equipment continue to work on the site to wash down the area and disassemble the structures. Two helicopters of the Moscow Aviation Center have dropped 50 tonnes of water to put out the fire.
