US Navy orders two more test MQ-25 Stingray refueling drones from Boeing

Date:

The US Navy has awarded Boeing a more than $657 million contract extension to build two more MQ-25 Stingray aerial refueling drones, or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), the Department of Defense said in a press release.

“The Boeing Company [of] St. Louis, Missouri is awarded a … $657,090,000 modification …contract …for the production and delivery of two additional MQ-25 System Demonstration Test Article aircraft,” the release said on Friday.

The contract will also include tooling and communication system changes for the Navy, the Defense Department said.

Much of the work on the contract will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri (45.43%) and the rest at other locations across the United States and Canada, the Defense Department said.

Work on the contract is scheduled to last four and a half years and is expected to be completed in October 2028, the release added.
