Agartala, 26th July 2025: A group of thieves targeted the residence of a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan at Din Baniachara Gram Panchayat under Melaghar police station making off with approximately 50 kilograms of rubber late last night. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over security in the area.
According to local sources, the perpetrators scaled the boundary wall and accessed the rooftop of the house, cutting through the tin door to gain entry. Family members discovered the theft early this morning and immediately informed the local police.
What has raised further alarm among villagers is the fact that this same residence has reportedly been burgled six times in the past. Despite the homeowner’s affiliation with state security services, his family continues to live under a cloud of vulnerability.
