Vehicle torched in suspected sabotage, panic grips Rahimpur

Agartala, 28th July 2025:    A newly purchased car was reduced to ashes in Rahimpur’s Ward 6 late last night after unidentified miscreants allegedly set it ablaze triggering widespread panic in the locality.

According to eyewitnesses, residents noticed flames erupting from the parked vehicle and raised an alarm. The owner and his family rushed to the scene, discovering their three-day-old car engulfed in fire. Firefighters were alerted and locals joined efforts to douse the blaze, but the vehicle was completely destroyed.Local sources said the car originally belonged to Rahul Hossain of Lalshimura, Bishalgarh and was sold just two days earlier to Nazrul Islam for Rs 5 lakh in cash and Rs 2 lakh via instruments.

Nazrul Islam stated he harbors no suspicion against anyone, but the motive and identities of the perpetrators remain unclear.Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Nearby CCTV footage is being reviewed to determine the cause and track those responsible.
