Agartala, 31st October 2025: The three-day state-level kala utsav organized under the Samagra Shiksha Mission concluded today at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here with a vibrant display of cultural brilliance and youthful creativity. Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, addressing the closing ceremony as chief guest, lauded the students’ artistic excellence, perseverance and dedication, stating that their contributions are enriching Tripura’s cultural heritage and fostering unity among its diverse communities.
“The cultural talent of our students is second to none. This festival not only nurtures creativity but also strengthens the spirit of brotherhood among our people,” Barman said. He emphasized that art and culture are vital to instilling compassion and humanity, calling art “the language of the soul” and education “the light of life.”
This year’s festival, themed “Developed India – A Vision for India in the Year 2047,” saw participation from nearly 3,000 students at the district level, with around 200 advancing to the state-level competition. A total of 78 students were awarded for their performances, and 26 have been selected to represent Tripura at the upcoming national-level art festival.
The event showcased a vibrant array of competitions across dance, music, drama, storytelling, and visual arts, celebrating the creative spirit of Tripura’s students.
In the solo dance category, Oishiki Bhattacharya from Netaji Vidyapeeth English Medium School, Unkoti, secured first place, followed by Nabanita Debnath from Sabum English Medium School in second, and Anvesha Dev from Ambasa English Medium School in third. In group dance, Chandrapur Higher Secondary School from Gomti district claimed the top spot, while Kulai XII School from Dhalai district and Bakafa Ashram Higher Secondary School from South Tripura district took second and third places respectively.
In instrumental music, Aarushi Das from Golden Valley Class XII School, North Tripura, won first place in the solo melodic category. Bhargava Kar from Ramakrishna Mission School, West Tripura, topped the solo percussion category, and Ramakrishna Mission School also emerged first in the group instrumental music competition.
In vocal music, Shreyashree Pal from Kamalpur Class XII School, Dhalai, won the solo category, while PM-Shri Dharmanagar Government Girls’ School from North Tripura led the group category.
In drama and storytelling, Pabiachhara Higher Secondary School from Unkoti district won first place in the group drama competition, and Monfort English Medium Higher Secondary School from West Tripura district secured the top position in the traditional storytelling group category.
In visual arts, Utkarshi Majumdar from Holy Cross High School won first place in the 2D solo category, Ipsita Majumdar from Palatana Higher Secondary School, Gomti, led the 3D solo category, and Teliamura Higher Secondary School from Khowai district took first place in the group visual art competition.
The closing ceremony was graced by senior officials including Raval Hemendra Kumar, Special Secretary of the Education Department; N.C. Sharma, Director of Secondary Education; Animesh Debbarma, Director of Higher Education; and L. Darlong, Director of SCERT. The event was presided over by Rajiv Dutta, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha.
The utsav served as a vibrant platform for students from classes IX to XII to express their artistic vision and cultural pride, reinforcing Tripura’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting unity through the arts.
