Agartala, 1st November 2025: In a commendable effort to promote digital literacy among youth, the 124 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has inaugurated a free computer training center under its Civic Action Program (CAP). The initiative was formally launched today with the commencement of a three-month Basic Computer Course for schoolchildren at The Computer Point, located on Pragati Road, Agartala.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Second-in-Command of 124 Bn CRPF, who emphasized the growing importance of computer literacy in everyday life. Addressing the attendees, Shri Singh encouraged students to make the most of the opportunity, stating that proficiency in basic computer operations is now essential for navigating modern society.
This skill development initiative will benefit 25 students from Pragati Vidya Bhawan School, Agartala. The course is being offered entirely free of cost, reflecting the battalion’s commitment to community empowerment and educational outreach.
The launch event was attended by Dhananjay Bhattacharjee, Administrator of The Computer Point, and Tapas Kumar, a representative from Pragati Vidya Bhawan School. School authorities expressed heartfelt appreciation for the CRPF’s philanthropic gesture and lauded the battalion’s dedication to fostering meaningful change through education.
