Agartala, 24th November 2025: A major fire was narrowly avoided at Dhalai Hotel and Restaurant, located along the Kamalpur Bypass Road, late Sunday night. Flames broke out inside the hotel’s kitchen, causing partial damage, but prompt action by the Fire Service prevented a larger disaster.
The hotel owner said that the establishment had closed around 11 pm and he had returned home. Around midnight, local residents alerted him that smoke and fire were visible inside the hotel. On rushing back, he found the kitchen engulfed in flames and immediately informed the fire department.
Firefighters arrived quickly at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread further. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit in the kitchen.
Thanks to the timely intervention, the hotel was spared from extensive damage. Residents expressed concern that the entire property could have been reduced to ashes had the fire not been contained in time.
