Agartala, 14th December 2025: A tragic road accident took place late last night in the Noabari area of Udaipur subdivision, where a motorcycle lost control and veered off the road, crashing into a nearby field.
Initial reports informed that the bike skidded in the darkness, causing both riders to be thrown onto the ground, where they remained for several hours.
This morning, local residents found the two men lying injured and immediately alerted the police. A rescue operation was launched, and both victims were rushed to hospital.
Doctors at the hospital declared Debshankar Jamatia (37) dead upon arrival. The other rider, Rohit Jamatia (27), was admitted to Gomati District Hospital in critical condition. Medical authorities confirmed that his condition remains serious and he is under intensive observation.
Police have sent the deceased’s body for post-mortem examination and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding or poor visibility in the darkness may have contributed to the crash.
