Agartala, 20th December 2025 : The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura, conducted a programme on “Awareness of rearing of Genetically improved fish species in Aquaculture” in collaboration with ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbaiwith great enthusiasm. The programme was started by welcome address by Dr. S. C. Mandal, Professor.
Followed by brief introduction about the training programme by the organizing Secretary Dr. Himanshu Priyadarshi, Associate Professor of College of Fisheries, Dr. Kiran Rasal, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai and Dr. A.D. Upadhyay, Professor, College of Fisheries.
In this occasion Dr. A.B. Patel, Dean College of Fisheries (CAU-I)Lembucherra, Tripura, highlighted about the genetically improved fish species and their importance in Aquaculture. The faculty members Dr. Chandan Halder and Dr. A. S. Barman also delivered the lecture.
Around 80 numbers of fish farmers of Tripura participated and shared their experience about the fish culture. The IMC seed were distributed to the farmers. The programme brought together farmers, faculty, scholars, and staffs, reaffirming our shared commitment to India’s blue revolution and sustainable aquaculture practices.
The college is thankful to the Vice chancellor, CAU (Imphal) for providing all the facilities. The programme was ended with vote of thanks, followed by national Anthem.
