Piyush Goyal Welcomes India-US Trade Deal, Calls It ‘Best Deal Country Received Compared To All Neighbours’

Date:

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday, February 3, hailed the India-US Trade Deal, calling it “the best deal the country has received compared to all neighbours and competing countries.” His statements came as India and the United States agreed on a $500 billion-dollar trade deal under which Washington will bring down the reciprocal tariff on Indian goods to 18 per cent from the current 25 per cent.

Praising PM Modi, Goyal added that in the deal, India protected the interests of sensitive agriculture and dairy sectors in the trade deal with the US. India-US trade deal will open huge opportunities for the poor, fishermen, farmers and youth of the country, Goyal said.

He further added that the country also got this good deal because of the personal relationship between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump, adding, “the trade deal is a good omen for India’s bright future.”

Further praising the deal signed with the US, Goyal in his address that it will bring wealth of opportunities to our micro, small, and medium enterprises, and all players in engineering, textiles, gems & jewellery, leather and footwear sector, and marine sector.

The Union Minister also said that he wanted to speak about the trade deal in the Parliament, but could not do so, due to the ugly scenes created by Rahul Gandhi.

Modi ji is rattled. The (US-India) trade deal, which was stalled for the past few months, was signed by Narendra Modi last night. There is extreme pressure on him. Narendra Modi ji’s image can get damaged. The main thing is that our PM is compromised.”
