Cyclone-Hit Family in Mandai Still Awaiting Relief Assistance

Date:

Agartala, 24th May 2026 :A financially struggling family from the Diari area under Mandai constituency has allegedly not received any relief support even weeks after their house was badly damaged by a recent cyclone and heavy rainfall.

According to reports, strong winds during the storm blew away the roof of the family’s home, leaving the house partially collapsed and unfit for living. Since then, the affected family has been facing severe hardship and is currently taking shelter at another resident’s house.

Soon after the incident, the local MLA visited the spot and assured the family that government assistance would be arranged at the earliest. However, the family claims that despite the assurance, no financial aid or emergency relief materials have reached them so far.

While speaking to the media, the family appealed to the government and concerned authorities for immediate help, saying they are struggling to cope without a safe place to stay.

The incident has also triggered dissatisfaction among local residents, many of whom believe that authorities should respond more promptly and effectively to people affected by natural disasters.
