Agartala, 23rd July 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday urged the newly appointed state committee members and Morcha presidents of the Pradesh BJP to strengthen the party at the grassroots by taking the achievements of the Central and State governments to the people.
After attending an interactive and introductory session with the newly appointed office-bearers, Dr. Saha congratulated them and said the BJP is a disciplined and well-organised party. He asked the leaders to expand the party’s acceptance by highlighting the developmental initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014 and the BJP-led Tripura Government since 2018. He also stressed the need to motivate workers at every level, particularly booth-level cadres.
The Chief Minister said the remaining organisational committees would soon be announced, enabling the party to prepare for the upcoming Village Committee and urban local body elections, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation polls. He said the BJP would approach the people with its record of governance and welfare initiatives.
Commenting on the recent Congress protest near the Prime Minister’s residence, Dr. Saha condemned the demonstration, saying protests are part of democracy but staging a sit-in in a high-security zone was inappropriate. He alleged that the Congress had repeatedly changed its demands and was using student-related issues to remain politically relevant. Claiming that similar attempts were made in Tripura, he asserted that such efforts to create instability would never succeed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
