A 13-year-old girl, a Class VII student of PM Shri Girls’ School, was found dead at her rented accommodation in Ward No. 8 of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat early Tuesday morning, triggering shock and grief in the area.The deceased was identified as D. Sampari Tripura, daughter of Kishore Tripura, an SPO jawan posted at East Ludua. She had been staying as a tenant at the residence of Biswajit Basak.
According to preliminary information, the minor had spent Monday night at a female friend’s house and returned to her rented room early Tuesday. She was subsequently found hanging inside the room.
On receiving the information, personnel from Sabroom Police Station rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. A forensic team from Belonia has also been called to examine the scene and assist investigators in determining the circumstances surrounding the death.
The incident has left the girl’s family and local residents deeply shocked. Police are investigating whether any personal, social or psychological factors may have contributed to the incident.
The death has also brought renewed attention to the importance of mental-health support and emotional well-being among adolescents, particularly as children increasingly face pressures that may remain unnoticed by parents, teachers and others around them.
The exact circumstances leading to the girl’s death will be known after the completion of the police investigation and forensic examination.
