Agartala, 8th September 2026 : Two drivers had a narrow escape after two Bolero vehicles collided head-on near the Ice Cream Factory area of Shantirbazar on Tuesday. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were badly damaged, triggering panic and concern among local residents.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, the accident involved an ONGC-associated Bolero bearing registration number TR01 H-4410 and a Bolero pickup van bearing registration number TR03 C-1593.
Hearing the loud sound of the collision, local residents rushed to the spot and helped assess the situation. Following the accident, a long traffic jam developed on the busy road, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters and leaving several vehicles stranded.
On receiving information, personnel from Shantirbazar Police Station quickly reached the spot. Police removed the damaged vehicles from the road and restored traffic movement, bringing the situation under control.
Initially, excessive speed was suspected to be the cause of the accident. However, after examining CCTV footage from the area, police reportedly found that the collision occurred due to the reckless driving and negligence of both vehicle drivers, rather than the fault of either driver alone.
