Left Front wings hold protest march in city

Agartala: May 18. As part of nationwide protest, the Left Front wings today held protest in Agartala demanding the arrest of BJP MP Brij Bhushan Samaran Singh and Haryana Minister Sandeep Singh for allegedly molesting wrestler.

On Thursday afternoon, a protest march of the Left front was organized in front of Bhanu Ghosh Smriti Bhavan.

Other leaders present in the rally included CPIM leader Pabitra Kar, former MP Shankar Prasad Dutta and former minister Bhanulal Saha.

Former MLA Pabitra Kar said that BJP MP Brij Bhushan Samaran Singh molested the female wrestlers.

“Then the wrestlers sought justice from the police, but did not get justice. After going to the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police took over the case on the orders of the court. But police is not taking proper action against them. Students, youth, women, workers and farmers  are protesting against this. Demands are being made to arrest the accused because these wrestlers have worked for the honour of the country” he said.

 He said that they are the pride of the country. Such criminal incidents of BJP MPs with them cannot be accepted in any way.

Therefore, like the rest of the country, on Thursday in Tripura state, various organizations including leftist students, youth, farmers have organized a movement. He said that if the accused are not arrested, there will be a bigger movement in the coming days.
