Agartala: June 13, 2023: In a tragic incident on Tuesday morning, a woman lost her life after being struck by a train near the rail line in the area under the Teliamura Police Station. The incidenttook place around 7 o’clock in the morning.
According to local residents who witnessed the incident, the woman’s death was confirmed after being hit by a train while crossing the rail line from Dharmanagar to Agartala. Rail police arrived at the scene upon receiving information from the local residents. The deceased woman has been identified as Rosh Rani Sarkar, a 56-year-old resident of the DM Colony area under Teliamura Police Station.
However, the exact cause of her death is yet to be determined. Whether it was a suicide or there are other underlying factors remains unknown and will be revealed after a thorough investigation.
The police have retrieved the body from the railway tracks and transferred it to Teliamura Hospital for further examination. The family members will be questioned after the completion of the preliminary investigation. The police are treating the incident as an unnatural death and conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
