Agartala: July 05. The people of Kalyanpur Ghilatali Police para village witnessed a tragic incident. The roads in the area were flooded due to heavy rains on Tuesday night. This heartbreaking incident took place in the house of Murari Sarkar, a resident of Policepara village of Ghilatali Panchayat in Kalyanpur police station area during torrential rain. A housekeeper along with four livestock died tragically when a residential house collapsed.
The deceased woman’s name is Sabitri Sarkar (56). Local MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury reached the spot after getting the news of the accident and expressed his condolences to the family. It is known that an old mud house of Murari Sarkar, a resident of Policepara village of Ghilatali village panchayat of Kalyanpur thana area, suddenly collapsed in the early morning. Sabitri Sarkar, the housekeeper of the house, who was sleeping at that time, got buried under the ground and died on the spot. At that time four cattle of the house also died brutally. When the rain stopped, the local people came forward and took the to the Kalyanpur hospital.
Allegedly, the doctor on duty at the hospital, Dr. Priyanka Das, sent the dead body home without conducting an autopsy. Meanwhile, local MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, Block Chairman Somen Gop, Mandal President Jiban Debnath and other administration officials reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident. The dead body was again brought to Kalyanpur Hospital for post-mortem examination.
