State’s medical infrastructure has changed: Mayor

Agartala, July 9, 2023: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized by Indian Medical Association Tripura branch on Sunday. Mayor Dipak Majumder inaugurated the day’s camp organized at the hall of Indian Medical Association.

Addressing the blood donation camp, the mayor said that with the change of government in 2018, there has been a big change in the health sector of the state. Now major operations are becoming possible in the state. And the blood shortage that patients need after this operation is largely met by blood donors.

The mayor expressed the opinion that they will save people’s lives by solving the shortage of blood in the coming days as well. Mayor also said in the organized camp that earlier people could not go outside the state even if they needed treatment. But at present, better treatment is available in the state at low cost, said the mayor.

Doctors in the state are playing an important role in providing services. Implementing social programs without limiting themselves to their professional responsibilities. They have also taken responsibility to solve the blood crisis. Mayor Majumder said that there is no substitute for blood.

The organized camp was attended by Chief Medical Superintendent of AGMC Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, IMA-State Branch President, Secretary along with other members present in the organized camp.
