Hollywood has lost another gem Robert Swan

 Another Hollywood actor loses his battle to cancer. Hollywood has lost Robert Swan, who is most known for the movies Untouchables, Rudy, and Hoosier, to cancer on Wednesday.

He died at his Rolling Prairie, Indiana, residence.

Robert was 78 years old, according to the US-based media outlet Variety.

His passing away was reported by a close family member who revealed that his dream was to see Samuel Johnson, the man first credited with developing the modern dictionary, as the subject of his Oscar-winning script.

Swan was well-known for his performance in a number of major motion pictures, notably his part as a Mountie captain in Brian De Palma’s ‘The Untouchables,’ which starred Sean Connery and Kevin Costner and won Sean Connery an Oscar.

According to sources, he played Deputy Napalatoni in Oliver Stone and Quentin Tarantino’s “Natural Born Killers.”

Swan performed in several plays in Chicago and received praise from the critics.

For his performance in “The Lesson,” he received a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination in 1975 for Best Actor in a Principal Role in a Play.

Swan also established Harbour Country Opera, an opera house in Michigan that bears the names of Larry Frankle and Quincy White.

According to Swan, who describes the yearly Christmas opera as a “beloved local tradition,” “When I started my Christmas show, I was down on Christmas… I gave myself back Christmas in the process.”
