Agartala, 22nd November 2023 : Along with the entire country, the Central Trade Unions and Sanjukta Kisan Morcha in the state will hold a Raj Bhavan Abhiyan on November 28 against the BJP government’s betrayal of farmers.
The state convener of the SKM state unit, Pabitra Kar, addressed a press conference today, stating that considering the undemocratic situation in our state, only the 21-point demand in Agartala will be addressed during the Raj Bhavan Abhiyan on the 28th of this month.
“All preparations are complete, and on November 26 and 27, protests will be held in every subdivision. Around 5000 farmers and laborers are expected to participate in this campaign,” he said.
He mentioned that in the last 14 years, PM Modi has announced to pay a minimum support price to the farmers by addressing 300 meetings in accordance with Swaminathan’s recommendation, but Narendra Modi forgot everything after becoming the Prime Minister.
“On the contrary, in an affidavit in the Supreme Court, his government said that it is not possible to give a minimum support price. PM Modi is a traitor to the farmers of the country. He has not kept the written promise he made during the farmers’ movement for two years today,” said Kar.
“The farmers’ and working-class people’s movement, which started with a three-day program in the month of November revolution, will be organized in the state from December. The movement will not be based only in Delhi but will also spread from the village,” he added.
Kar expressed that the Modi government is so shameless that during COVID, when food donors are fighting the pandemic and providing food to the people of India, Modi rewarded farmers by implementing three black laws.
On the 28th, the affiliated Kisan Morcha and labor organizations will gather from the Rabindra Bhavan area, after which the procession will start towards Raj Bhawan.
