Agartala, November 26: A group of unemployed youths staged a protest in the city center here on Sunday. They demanded the speedy completion of the recruitment process for the posts of firemen and drivers in the state fire service department.

The protesters alleged that the recruitment process has been stalled for the last 11 months without conducting the oral test. They said that they had applied for the posts in 2022, when the notification was published for the recruitment of 7 firemen and 25 drivers. They also said that they had cleared the physical and written tests, but the oral test has not been held yet.

The job aspirants said that they are suffering from anxiety and uncertainty due to the delay in the recruitment process. They urged the state government and the fire service department to complete the recruitment process by December this year. They also threatened to intensify their agitation if their demand is not met.
