Agartala, November 27: The Left Front, led by former minister Bijita Nath, gave deputation to the BDO of Jubarajnagar RD block in Dharmanagar subdivision on Monday. They raised various issues on behalf of the day labourers working under the MGNREGA project in the block.

The Left Front demanded that the wages for 100 days of work should be paid on time, and that the allowances should not be delayed or diverted for other purposes. They alleged that some officials were earning money in a crooked way by misusing the allowance funds. They also claimed that the government’s philosophy of work for all was not being implemented properly, as some SHG groups were being discriminated against due to political polarization.

The Left Front urged the block officer to ensure that the government projects were executed without any political interference, and that the poor people were not deprived of the benefits. They also asked for equal distribution of the government facilities to the people, regardless of their political affiliation.
