Upon arrival, Governor Indrasena Reddy was welcomed by the Joint Director of the State Agriculture Research Station, Uttam Saha. He then engaged in discussions with the Joint Director and other officials on various agricultural issues at the conference hall of the State Agriculture Research Station.

A documentary showcasing various programs of the State Agriculture Research Station was screened during the discussion. In the exchange meeting, the Joint Director provided detailed information to the Governor about the station’s programs. Subsequently, the Governor toured the station’s seed museum, demonstration cultivation areas for paddy and other crops, as well as organically grown crops. He also visited the Seed Testing Laboratory and the Mobile Soil Testing Van.

Speaking with reporters later, Governor Reddy emphasized the importance of research for the development of the country.

“A country will only develop when there are robust research programs in place. If we want our state to progress, we must prioritize research; otherwise, development will stagnate. The establishment of this research center aims to facilitate farmers conveniently. This research center has been serving for 70 years, and we are committed to bringing new seeds for research in the future. Seeds are brought here, where they undergo further development to be eventually sold to farmers. We have also instructed them to conduct research on new seed varieties,” he added.
