Agartala, 21st August 2024:  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday visited and inspected various flood-affected areas and relief camps to ensure that flood victims receive all necessary facilities.

Dr. Saha visited Baldakhal Area, as well as relief camps set up at Swami Dayalananda Vidyaniketan in Dhaleshwar, Ramthakur Higher Secondary Girls’ School, and Swami Vivekananda School in Town Bardowali.

Speaking with reporters later, Dr. Saha said, “I have been visiting all the flood-affected areas. Today, I was supposed to go to the South district, but the road conditions are poor, so I could not go. I have now visited the flood-affected areas in and around Agartala city. We can’t even imagine such a situation in Tripura. There has been massive rainfall everywhere. We have not seen such rain before. This is a natural disaster. I also visited the relief camps to ensure that they are receiving all necessary facilities. Everyone is working hard. All government machinery, councilors, and even party workers are on the ground working around the clock.”

He mentioned that around 320 relief camps have been opened, with over 30,000 people taking shelter.

During the visit of relief camps, Dr Saha also engaged with the victims and spoke with them.

Dr. Saha also assessed the flood situation in Agartala through the Integrated Command & Control Centre at IT Bhavan, Agartala.

“Relief measures are being prioritized by the administration. Let’s come together to tackle this natural calamity with collective efforts and support for those affected,” said Dr. Saha.
