Agartala, 15th November 2024:   Three minor school students were arrested at Dharmanagar for their involvement in a scooter theft case. The stolen scooter was later recovered by the police.

Speaking to reporters, Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station Sthitikantha Bardhan said, “On November 9, Balai Shil, a resident of Shibbari Road reported the theft of his scooter to the Dharmanagar Police Station. Acting on his complaint, the police launched an investigation. By November 12, they had successfully recovered the stolen scooter and apprehended three minor students linked to the theft.”

“Based on the complaint, we initiated an investigation and managed to recover the scooter within a few days. We have arrested three minor students in connection with the theft,” said Officer Bardhan. Due to their age, the identities of the arrested minors cannot be disclosed.

The incident has raised concerns about the involvement of school students in criminal activities. “It is alarming that students, who should be focusing on their education and building a bright future, are engaging in such heinous acts,” remarked a local resident.

The Tripura Police are continuing their investigation to determine if there are any other underlying factors or individuals involved in the case. The community is left pondering the reasons behind such behavior among the youth.
