Agartala, 2nd February 2025:  A bold theft took place in the Aralia Shanti Para area under the College Tilla Police Station today afternoon, sending shockwaves through the local community. According to reports, a gang of thieves targeted the house of Dilip Debnath while the family was away.

Debnath, his wife, and their younger son had left for work earlier in the day, leaving only their elder son at home. At around 1:45 pm, the elder son locked the doors and stepped out to a nearby shop.

Upon returning around 1:30 pm, he found the house’s windows and doors broken and everything inside in disarray. In a state of shock, he immediately contacted his father, Dilip Debnath, who rushed home to assess the situation. The thieves made off with approximately 29 thousand taka in cash, including money from the sale of a scooty, as well as gold ornaments. Debnath suspects that local drug addicts, who have been known to frequent the area, might be behind the theft. He immediately reported the crime to the College Tila Outpost police, who arrived on the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
