Agartala, 19th February 2025: The Central Government has sanctioned additional financial assistance for Tripura and Nagaland under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
Union Home Minister Amit Shah made the announcement on X, reaffirming the Modi government’s commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities.
“Today, the MHA approved an additional central assistance of ₹1,554.99 crore to Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura under the NDRF. This is in addition to the ₹18,322.80 crore already released by the Centre to 27 states under the SDRF,” Shah stated.
Of the total ₹1,554.99 crore sanctioned, Andhra Pradesh will receive ₹608.08 crore, Nagaland ₹170.99 crore, Odisha ₹255.24 crore, Telangana ₹231.75 crore, and Tripura ₹288.93 crore.
The announcement comes just two days after Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. Following the meeting, CM Saha described it as a productive discussion on Tripura’s development roadmap and post-flood relief efforts.
“We reviewed the ongoing relief measures after the recent floods in Tripura. I deeply appreciate his valuable inputs and continued support,” the Chief Minister said.
Tripura suffered significant losses due to the devastating floods in August 2024, prompting urgent relief measures from both the state and central governments.
