Agartala, 29th March 2025:   The 81st Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully distributed items worth approximately Rs 8 lakh through six civic action programs and five health camps in border areas during the fiscal year 2024-25.

At the fiscal year’s conclusion, Commandant Rakesh Sinha highlighted these initiatives at a civic action program held in the M Tila area under the Srimantapur Border Out Post (BOP). The programs aimed to foster stronger relations with border residents while fulfilling social responsibilities alongside ensuring border security.

To boost the earning capacity of local communities, the battalion distributed agricultural tools and sewing machines to farmers in the region. Additionally, sports equipment was provided to children and youth, encouraging intellectual and mental development. These supplies were distributed to economically disadvantaged individuals and students in schools under the Srimantapur, Shobhapur and Sonapur Gram Panchayats, all falling under the Srimantapur BOP’s jurisdiction.

As a continuation of a long-standing tradition, this year’s civic action program has been conducted over two months, reaffirmed Commanding Officer Rakesh Sinha.
