Draupadi Murmu an icon of pride for the tribals in India; Congress going berserk!

Date:

By – Devid Debbarma

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has projected Draupadi Murmu ji as the candidate for the upcoming Presidential elections in India. She would be the first tribal President of our nation if elected.

She was sworn in as the first woman Governor of Jharkhand in 2015. Hailing from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district and coming from a tribal community, she had started her career as a teacher. Later, Murmu entered into Odisha politics.

Meanwhile, the cheap comments by Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar on July 13 has brought in shame to the tribals across our country. He has not only insulted NDA’s Presidential Candidate but also tribals across India. This is an attack on identity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been putting in consistent efforts to uplift India as the world leader. His focus on Northeast has also been unparalleled with the vision of Ashthalaxmi, and having frequent visits to Northeast. Central cabinet minister are maintaining a cordial relation with NE now.

Collectively, Congress has yet underlined the cheap colonial mindset that their leaders have built over the years of misrule in India. It is important that Dr. Ajoy Kumar should extend a public apology for the shameless comments and insult to a lady and tribals.

The philosophy of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been built on certainty principles. The organisational strength is its cadres, and not centered around any individual, leader, family or dynasty. Its driving force is national approach to all issues rising above caste and religion.

BJP draws strength from ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. This is the central theme. ‘Bharat’ (our land), ‘Mata’ (our heritage and culture) and ‘Jai’ (people’s aspirations) are expression of BJP’s deep commitment to our nation.

In such a scenario, comments by Congress that Draupadi Murmu represents an evil philosophy of India is condemnable and very unwelcome. No individual be allowed to politicise the emotions of fellow Indians.

Similarly, the philosophy of Integral Humanism looks at the individual not merely as a material object but one who has a spiritual dimension. It also talks of integral approach to development that has individual at its core that is linked to the family, the society and the nation at large.

Let us continue to upload the values of our Bharat Mata and be a part of the growth engine propelled by progressive vision. It is important for us to engage in the process of nation building and not how Congress believes in family politics or progression.
