Agartala, January 19: The All India Krishak Sabha (AIKS), the Tripura Khet Majur Union (TKMU) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Friday observed Martyr’s Day at Paradise Choumuhani area here to pay tribute to the 10 workers, farmers and farm laborers who were killed by the Tamil Nadu police in 1982 during a nationwide labor strike called by the first central trade union.

The State Committee Secretary of AIKS, Pabitra Kar, criticized the BJP government for taking away the rights of farmers and workers and for trying to destroy democracy and constitution.
