Agartala, August 21: In a daring act of thievery that has sent shockwaves through the community, a gang of robbers brazenly targeted the office of the school inspector, conveniently situated just a stone’s throw away from the Khowai district Superintendent of Police’s office. The audacious heist took place on Sunday night, presenting a significant security challenge in the vicinity.

Under the cover of darkness, the thieves mounted an assault on the school inspector’s office, posing a direct challenge to the nearby police patrols. This audacious operation resulted in the pilfering of valuable items amounting to several lakhs of rupees from the school inspector’s storage facilities.

The stolen loot included four computers, four typewriters, and a staggering ten ceiling fans, in addition to a substantial 200 kilograms of steel rods. The combined market value of these items is estimated to exceed several lakhs of rupees.

The gravity of the situation became apparent on Monday morning when the office’s storekeeper arrived at the scene to discover a broken door and a disturbing absence of its contents. Swiftly, a formal complaint was lodged with the Khowai police station to report this shocking incident.

The incident has left the local community in a state of disquiet, as authorities grapple with the audacity of the thieves who managed to execute a high-value theft in such close proximity to the district police headquarters. The investigation is ongoing, and residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to assist law enforcement in their pursuit of the culprits.
