Agartala: April 14. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has said that the central government is sincere in the interest of the indigenous people of the state.
Chief Minister Dr Saha said this while inaugurating Garia Puja and the festival.
Speaking on occasion, the Chief Minister said that Jamatia hoda has a traditional history and they are also been playing an important role in maintaining peace and harmony in the society.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has made an effort to build a better Tripura through the overall development of people from all walks of life.
“The journey of development of the state has started with the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Work is underway to make the state a HIRA model. The central and state governments are giving priority to the development of the people of the tribal areas and the development of the ADC areas. A proposal has been sent to the Central Government to increase the number of seats in Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council from 28 to 50”, said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has solved the problem of Bru refugees.
“Honorary Allowance introduced for Janajati Samajpatis. Eminent people of the state are receiving the Padma Shri for their special contribution to society, culture, and arts. This proves that the central government is sincere in the welfare of the people”, said Dr Saha.
On the occasion, MLA Rampada Jamatia said that the 432nd Baba Garia Puja is being held this year.
“Baba Gariya Puja is worshiped for happiness, peace, prosperity, and development. The unity of the nation is strengthened. The puja of Baba Gariya Puja is organized to eliminate evil forces from the society”, he said.
He said that the state government is working diligently on the issues of education, health, employment, etc. for the overall development of the people.
