Agartala, May 9, 2023: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday joined the protest at the NF Railway headquarters in Lumding demanding the establishment of a second railway line and a railway division in Tripura. Later, the deputation was provided by the Pradesh Congress delegation.
Pradesh Congress President Birajit Sinha said that workers including the leadership of the Pradesh Congress have joined the agitation and deputation to demand the establishment of a second railway track in Tripura. They handed over a memorandum through a deputation at the NF Railway headquarters on Monday.
This memorandum mentions the district headquarters and sub-divisions of each district from Dharmanagar to Sabroom where this second railway line should touch. At the same time, there was a demand to establish a railway division in Dharmanagar. This demand from the Congress is long standing.
A demand has been made on Monday for this issue to be looked at seriously in public interest. MLA Gopal Chandra Roy and other leaders were also present on the day.
