Agartala, 20th March 2025:   The CPI(M) West Tripura District Committee organized a protest march in Agartala, condemning alleged corruption under the BJP-led coalition government. The march, followed by a public meeting, demanded strict action against those involved in corrupt practices.

Speaking to the media personnel here, Secretary of the CPI(M) West Tripura District Committee Ratan Das accused the BJP government of being deeply entrenched in corruption. He highlighted irregularities in departments such as education and forestry, claiming that work in various sectors often required bribes, leaving citizens vulnerable to harassment.

Das further alleged that drug trafficking operations were flourishing unchecked in the state, while extortion had reached alarming levels under the current administration. He also criticized Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, accusing him of turning a blind eye to corruption within the departments under his control. Das held the Chief Minister accountable for the deteriorating state of affairs in Tripura.

The protest aimed to raise awareness and demand accountability from the government, as citizens voiced their concerns over the alleged misuse of power and resources.
