Agartala, 24th February 2026:  Physicians and healthcare workers at the Trauma Care Center of GB Hospital have raised alarm over severe financial hardship, alleging they have not received salaries for the past four months. In protest, they have warned of an indefinite work stoppage if the issue is not resolved immediately.

Several doctors and staff members stated that despite performing their duties diligently and continuing patient care, they have been deprived of their rightful pay for months. The prolonged delay, they said, has made it increasingly difficult to manage daily expenses, household responsibilities, and family obligations.

“We are facing extreme financial distress due to the pending salaries,” one of the doctors remarked, urging the authorities to intervene without delay. Staff members emphasized that unless the arrears are cleared promptly, they would be compelled to halt services.

The development has sparked widespread concern within the health sector, raising questions about administrative accountability and the potential impact on patient care at one of the region’s key medical facilities.
