Agartala, 18th July 2026 : Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Saturday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transforming Tripura Police into a modern, technology-driven and people-friendly force.
Addressing the passing-out parade of the 92nd batch of newly recruited police personnel at R.K. Nagar, the Chief Minister congratulated 469 newly inducted constables and one rifleman of the 15th Battalion, who successfully completed 12 months of intensive training.
He said dedication, honesty and professionalism are the keys to earning respect and recognition in society and expressed confidence that the new recruits would further enhance the reputation of Tripura Police through integrity, discipline and public service.
Highlighting the force’s rich legacy, Dr. Saha noted that Tripura’s policing system dates back to the royal era, with an organised administrative and police structure established as early as the 13th century. The present structure of Tripura Police formally came into existence in 1965.
The Chief Minister said the government is continuously working to modernise the police force in line with changing times by strengthening technology, improving efficiency and making policing more citizen-centric.
He also emphasised that, besides maintaining law and order, police personnel must strive to earn the trust and confidence of the people.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, Secretary Abhishek Singh and other senior police and civil administration officials.
