Agartala: August 19. Tripura government has announced two decisions including the beautification of the royal crematorium.Today while celebrating the Birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Bahadur at Rabindra Bhawan, the chief minister said the state government has decided to decision for in memory of Maharaja Bir Bikram to give him respect.
“Our government has decided something which I will declare today on the celebration of birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram. Recently we held a meeting where we have felicitated the Samajpatis of different tribes. We have seen that the past government which ruled the state has intentionally said that Maharajas of Tripura didn’t do anything for the developmental of state. To destroy their history they intentionally did it. But after BJP came into power we gave respect to Tripura’s Maharaja. And Prime Minister Narendra Modi he himself came in our state inaugurated the statue of the Maharaja Bir Bikram”, he said.
He further said that after BJP formed the government it has declared a holiday to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Maharaja. “We will erect a statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram on a zero milestone in Masjid Patti which consider as the centre point of Agartala which was set up by the Maharaja Bir Bikram. Still now it is there. It was one of my dreams. I had spoke with my cabinet colleagues. We will beautify it and for which I have already spoke with the mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder. We have also decided to beautify and to develop the royal crematorium of the royal family”, he added.
