Imam booked for sexual harassment

 Agartala, October 29:  A case has been filed against one Imam with the Dharmanagar Women police station for sexually harassment of a girl.  According to the details of the incident, the Imam identified as Raham Uddin of Shakaibari Mosque in Dharmanagar is a resident of Barak Valley in the neighboring state of Assam.

 He indulged in a romantic relationship with a minor girl of Ward No. 2 of Algapur Gram Panchayat in Dharmanagar. They had a romantic relationship for a year and a half and Imam promised to marry her. The victim’s mother said that they had a physical relationship for the past three months. The victim’s mother was caught in the act of sexual intercourse on Saturday. Seeing the dire situation, Imam Raham Uddin ran away from there. The mother of the accused filed a case with the Dharmanagar Women Police Station on Saturday night alleging physical abuse and rape of her daughter for a long time.  Meanwhile,  the police of Dharmanagar informed the Nilambazar police station of Assam.
