IMD issues alert of dense fog for Tripura for next three days

Agartala: December 27. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued high alert of dense to very dense fog for the next three days in the state.

In a report, IMD said on December 27 Dense Fog to be cover in isolated pockets over Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. on December 28 Dense to very dense fog very likely to cover Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. while on December 29 Dense fog very likely in isolated pockets over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. The IMD officials also said that because of the situation people may face difficult driving conditions with slower journey times on Highways and some traffic collisions are also possible.

Likely train delays, diversons and cancellations, Airport operations likely to be affected with likely flight delays and cancellations. Wheezing, coughing & shortness of breadth likely for people having asthma bronchitis and It could lead to eye irritation/infection on long exposures. They have also suggested to confirm with airlines, Railway, State transport and ferry service operators for journey schedules. Use fog lights and be careful during driving. Carry essential items like water, medicine for long journey times. Maintenance team to be kept ready to deal with power outages.
