‘Jan Kalyan Shivir’ and health camp held at Dasda, 35 patients receive medical services

Date:

Agartala, 16th June 2026:   A special ‘Jan Kalyan Shivir’ and Health Camp was successfully organized at the Dasda Block premises in North Tripura with the objective of providing accessible healthcare services to rural residents. The initiative aimed to bring medical facilities, government health scheme benefits, and health awareness directly to the people.

A large number of residents from nearby areas participated in the camp. During the programme, 35 patients underwent preliminary health check-ups and received medical advice from healthcare professionals. Following the examinations, essential medicines were distributed free of cost among patients as per doctors’ recommendations.

As part of the government’s healthcare initiatives, eligible beneficiaries were also enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat). A total of 15 beneficiaries were registered, and their Ayushman Bharat cards were generated at the camp itself, helping them access cashless healthcare facilities.

An awareness session was also conducted focusing on monsoon-related health risks, including waterborne diseases, diarrhea, and malaria. People were advised to consume safe drinking water, maintain cleanliness, and use mosquito nets to prevent infections.

“Health camps of this nature play a crucial role in safeguarding the health of the common people at the rural level. Timely diagnosis and awareness are what can gift us a healthy society,” said Dr. Marcel Chakma, Medical Officer.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of health officials and staff of Dasda Block, including Dr. Marcel Chakma, one Community Health Officer (CHO), two Multi-Purpose Workers (MPW), and other supporting health workers. Residents appreciated the initiative and requested that such welfare camps be organized regularly in the future.
