Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurates ‘Barsha Baran’ festival at Charilam

Agartala, April 28, 2023: The auspicious ‘Barsha Baran’ festival was organized with the initiative of Charilam Block and Sepahijala Zilla Parishad at Leela Dev Smriti Hall in Charilam. Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma was present in this programme.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Deb Barman inaugurated the programme in presence of Block Development Officer Rupan Das, Charilam Block Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Rakhi Das Kar, Charilam Block BAC Chairman Zakulo Debbarma, Charilam Block Education Standing Committee Chairman Rajkumar Debnath and others.

While addressing the event, the former Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Jishnu Dev Varma said that dance song recitals are important in every festival. Every festival has immense importance in the society. Festivals bring people together. Forgetting the violence and differences, people hugged each other and rejoiced in the festival. The ‘Barsha Baran’ festival has also occupied an important place in the civilized society. People welcome the new by saying goodbye to the old. The ‘Barsha Baran’ festival is for making every moment of New Year beautiful every day.”

With the help of Charilam RD Block and Sepahijala Zilla Parishad and the initiative of Charilam ‘Barsha Baran’ Utjabsya Committee, ‘Barsha Baran’ Utsav was held at Leela Dev Smriti Community Hall adjacent to Charilam Bazar at 4 pm on Friday.

The guests said that every festival is very important in the society. People forget all sorrows and differences by coming to the festival. Each festival is associated with the culture and tradition of the country and state. The children artists performed routines and songs on the occasion. The Leela Dev Smriti Hall was crowded around this event.
