Agartala, 25th February 2025:   A group of job seekers set off for the Chief Minister’s residence yesterday, demanding the recruitment of fire workers and drivers. However, they were stopped by the police on the road. Undeterred, they joined a protest in front of Ujjayant Prasad, voicing their demands.

“We want the results to be published as soon as possible and the recruitment process to be completed,” said one of the protesters. “If our demands are not met, we will escalate our movement.”

The job seekers alleged that a notice was issued in 2022 for the recruitment of 329 posts in the Tripura Fire Service. Shortly after, physical and written tests were conducted. However, it has been nearly two years since the department released the results. They claimed that there has been no recruitment in the last two years and their inquiries were met with police intervention.

Another protester added, “We appeal to Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha to look into this matter seriously. We need transparency and prompt action.”

The protesters have warned that they will intensify their efforts if their demands are not addressed.
