Agartala, 18th July 2024: Despite widespread allegations of terrorism during the 3-tier Panchayat elections, a different scenario took place at Kakraban block in Udaipur. Thursday marked the final day for submitting nominations, with opposition parties across the state facing attacks. However, in a surprising turn of events, local BJP leaders in Kakraban set a commendable precedent.
Supporters of the ruling party welcomed opposition candidates who came to file their nominations with rose flowers. This gesture was part of a pre-planned initiative by the Kakraban BJP mandal. Even opponents acknowledged this initiative as praiseworthy, aiming to maintain the election’s integrity.
MLA Sudip Roy Barman was notably felicitated with a bouquet of flowers, symbolizing the effort to ensure a peaceful and respectful election process in Kakraban.
