Agartala, 19th July 2025:   In a bid to tackle long-standing civic issues and improve basic infrastructure, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder led an on-site inspection of Ward No. 35 on Saturday. The visit focused on assessing local challenges, especially recurring waterlogging and inadequate drainage systems.

Accompanying the Mayor were Mayor-in-Council and local councillor Tushar Kanti Bhattacharjee, Ward No. 35 Councillor Manoj Kanti Debroy, Ward No. 36 Councillor Nitu Dey Guha, AMC Deputy Commissioner, senior engineers from the PWD, and several other officials and community stakeholders.

The team walked through key problem areas, interacting with residents and examining infrastructure gaps. Immediate instructions were issued to municipal and PWD departments for prompt intervention.

Addressing the media after the inspection, Mayor Majumder acknowledged that residents had raised these issues repeatedly in the past but admitted that corrective actions were delayed. “We are now actively working to deliver visible results. Our administration is committed to transforming every ward under AMC’s jurisdiction,” he said.

Majumder further announced that Rs 50 lakh has been sanctioned from the SC Corporation for developmental work in the Ravi Das Para area. Additionally, Rs 15 lakh has been earmarked for road repairs, drainage upgrades, and other civic improvements in the ward.

Reiterating the AMC’s commitment to responsive governance, the Mayor assured that systematic steps are being taken to improve civic amenities and streamline service delivery across the city.
