Mystery deepens after youth found dead at Kumarghat, syringe recovered near body

Agartala, 30th June 2026: A sensation has gripped Kumarghat following the mysterious death of a 24-year-old youth whose body was recovered from the roadside near the Kumarghat Fishery Office. The discovery of an injection syringe near the body has raised further questions surrounding the incident.

Reportedly, locals spotted the youth lying unconscious by the roadside and informed the fire department. Fire service personnel reached the spot, rescued him and rushed him to Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased was identified as Suman Das, son of Sajal Das of Rajnagar Ward No. 1 under Fatikroy Police Station.

Local sources said minor injury marks and an injection syringe were found near the body, leading to initial suspicion of a possible drug-related death. However, police have not ruled out other possibilities and an investigation is underway.

Suman’s father said that his son had been missing since Monday evening. The family came to know on Tuesday that Suman’s body had been taken to Kumarghat Hospital. He added that Suman had been struggling with drug addiction for a long time and had undergone rehabilitation treatment several times. According to him, Suman had recently returned to drug use.

The exact cause of death will be confirmed after further investigation and necessary medical examination.
