Agartala, October 17, 2023: In a solemn gathering marking the 104th foundation day of the Communist Party, CPIM State Committee Member and Left Front convener Narayan Kar today paid homage to a legacy forged through over a century of challenges and sacrifices. The event took place at the state office of the CPIM, with the presence of numerous party leaders.
Reflecting on the historic significance of the day, Narayan Kar highlighted the origins of the Communist Party in Tashkent on October 17, 1920, within the Soviet Socialist Republic. Today, it celebrates an impressive 103-year journey since its inception. During the early years of its existence, several Indian revolutionaries in exile, dispersed across various countries, endeavoured to free India from the yoke of the British Empire.
Kar noted that this remarkable journey has not been without its share of tribulations and setbacks. Throughout this century-long struggle, the red flag has been indelibly stained with the blood of countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the party. Despite numerous detours and obstacles, the Communist Party never bowed before the oppressors.
As the 104th foundation day of the Communist Party was observed, it served as a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit and commitment of the party to its ideals and the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the cause.
