Agartala, 28th April 2024:  The National Health Mission (NHM) in Tripura is gearing up for a widespread campaign, commencing on May 3rd, aimed at registering individuals for the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), with a particular emphasis on rural areas.

In a recent press conference, Binay Bhusan Das, the Joint Mission Director of NHM Tripura, underscored the significance of Ayushman Bharat, the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana, labeling it as the nation’s most extensive health insurance initiative.

Das highlighted the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, a comprehensive digital platform integrating various medical services, including small labs, hospitals, and healthcare professionals. He stressed the importance of centralizing these services onto a unified digital platform for efficient healthcare delivery, marking a revolutionary stride towards ensuring comprehensive healthcare coverage.

Under ABHA, medical practitioners will gain seamless access to individuals’ medical histories, facilitating better diagnosis and treatment. Das urged every citizen to acquire an ABHA card, emphasizing its role in preserving medical records securely.

Initiating the process in Agartala, NHM Tripura plans similar camps across other districts on May 3rd and 10th, followed by sub-divisional camps on the 17th and 24th of May. Training sessions for registration will be conducted across all districts and subdivisions.

Currently, 1,152 pharmacies have enrolled in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, with over 15.54 lakh individuals already registered under ABHA. The next phase aims to issue ABHA cards at the village level, with Aadhar card being a prerequisite for registration.
