Agartala, 29th May 2025: Telangana Governor and former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday hailed Operation Sindoor as a historic milestone for India, asserting that the mission sent a strong message to Pakistan and marked a decisive moment in the nation’s battle against terrorism.
Speaking at a blood donation camp in Agartala, Dev Varma credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the success of the operation, which targeted and dismantled terrorist infrastructure. “Operation Sindoor is a proud chapter in India’s history. After a long time, the country has given a strong and clear response to Pakistan. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, several terror camps were destroyed. This will be remembered as a defining moment in how India confronts terrorism,” he said.
The Governor also underscored the government’s intensified efforts to eliminate Maoist insurgency, particularly in long-affected regions. “Anti-Maoist operations are being conducted actively in districts troubled by insurgency for years. The number of Maoist cadres is steadily declining due to the government’s firm and strategic approach. Peace is essential for progress, and we are determined to uphold it,” he added.
Turning to the subject of blood donation, Dev Varma expressed concern over the nationwide shortage and urged greater participation, especially from the youth. “There is a serious shortage of blood across the country. In Telangana, we are conducting similar blood donation drives. Blood can’t be manufactured—it must be donated. The young people of Tripura have always shown enthusiasm for such causes, and their spirit continues to inspire,” he said.
